Top-seeded UCLA trails No. 9 Arizona State at halftime 41-33

LAS VEGAS — The Bruins may have arrived in Las Vegas with a different kind of hangover after winning the Pac-12’s regular season championship as top-seeded UCLA trails No. 9 seed Arizona State at halftime 41-33 in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Tournament.

Arizona State led by as many as 13 in the half but UCLA closed it out on a 5-0 run.

As was the case when the Bruins suffered their worst defeat of the season to the Sun Devils in Tempe, Ariz., junior center Jordan Bachynski is giving them all they can handle inside. He led Arizona State with 14 points in the first half. Freshman guard Jahii Carson, co-Pac-12 freshman of the year, had 11.

Redshirt senior guard Larry Drew II led UCLA with nine points while freshman guard Jordan Adams had eight.
