A draft of UCLA’s tobacco-free policy was released to the public today, marking the beginning of a two-month comment period.
UCLA’s “Tobacco-Free Environment” policy will prohibit the use of tobacco anywhere on any UCLA-owned or leased property beginning April 22. This will include all forms of tobacco, including smoking and smokeless tobacco products.
The draft will be available on Moodle, UCLA Academic Senate and Executive Vice Chancellor Scott Waugh’s websites, the Daily Bruin reported last month.
Students, staff, and faculty have until Jan. 15 to submit comments or questions on the draft.
Anyone interested in the policy can submit comments to the Tobacco-Free Steering Committee at tobaccofree@ucla.edu.
