UCLA enters halftime with slim lead over UCI, 36-34

While last Friday’s opening game against Indiana State seemingly had higher intensity, more fans and a greater sentimental meaning to the game, UCLA looked much more comfortable at the start of tonight’s game against UC Irvine.

UCLA entered halftime leading 36-34. The Bruins jumped out to an early 21-11 lead over the Anteaters in the first half behind 12 straight points from redshirt junior forwards David and Travis Wear.

UCI was able to creep back into the game despite shooting just over 32 percent from the field.

A large part of the Bruins’ inability to pull away could be attributed to their 0-7 shooting beyond the arch.
