Women's soccer to enter NCAA Tournament at No. 3 seed

UCLA women’s soccer has garnered a No. 3 seed in the NCAA championships, which begin Friday.

They will begin postseason play against Wisconsin next weekend at home. The Bruins faced the Badgers earlier this season at Drake, a game UCLA won 2-0.

California, Stanford and Washington are the only other Pac-12 teams who received bids to the 64-team tournament. The Cardinal, who beat the Bruins on Oct. 28 to take the Pac-12 title, has the No. 1 seed in the same bracket as UCLA.

If the Bruins win their first match, they will face either UT Martin or Kentucky the next weekend.

Last year, UCLA was upset early in tournament play in a game against University of San Diego at home. This year’s semifinals and championship will take place in San Diego the final week of November and the first weekend in December.
