A UCLA student was robbed near the corner of Strathmore and Landfair avenues late Wednesday night.

At about 11:15 p.m., the student was walking west on Strathmore Avenue on the north side of the street, according to a report from university police released Thursday. Three men approached her and told her to hand over her stuff, the statement read.

One man then grabbed the student’s iPod from her hand while the two remaining men unsuccessfully attempted to grab her gym bag. When she pulled away, yelling, the three men ran northbound on Landfair Avenue, according to the report.

No one was injured in the incident, according to the report.

The man that took the iPod is described in the report as black, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue pants at the time of the incident.

Police recommend students avoid walking alone at night and stay aware of their surroundings. When confronted with a robber, police suggest students comply with their requests and obtain a detailed description.

Anyone with information about the robbery can call UCLA at 310-825-1491.
