News and notes heading into week three:
- Two Bruin special team stalwarts will face off this weekend when Brendon Ayanbadejo of the Baltimore Ravens takes on Matthew Slater and the New England Patriots. Both have been been named All-Pro since playing on Sundays.
- When Chicago’s best offensive option (running back Matt Forte) went down with an injury, the Bears signed running back Kahlil Bell after recently cutting him before the season started. He’ll make his 2012 NFL debut against the St. Louis Rams.
- Akeem Ayers and Alterraun Verner have been carrying the load this season defensively for the Tennessee Titans that will be put to the test against a good quarterback in Detroit’s Matt Stafford.
