UCLA has been known to host NBA players during the offseason in recent years. The Association’s best are often spotted in the John Wooden Center or Student Activity Center honing their skills during the summer.
Today, though, the Boston Celtics may have started a new trend.
The team set up a clandestine flag football game on the UCLA Intramural Field in the early afternoon.
Familiar faces such as Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo could be seen stretching after the game had wrapped up around 12:30 p.m.
The game was set up as a team-building activity, and although it was supposed to be low-key, word spread and the perimeter had grown with a sizable crowd of fans trying to get a glimpse of the former NBA champions.
The Celtics went 39-27 last season and begin their 2012-2013 campaign Oct. 30 at Miami.
