Waiting in anticipation for UCLA’s season opener?
Well, according to the Associated Press, the Bruins will be entering the game against the Rice Owls 1-0.
On Monday, the AP ran an erroneous report that UCLA had defeated Oregon Saturday, 21-20, on the back of a last-second touchdown by UCLA quarterback”¦Bob Jones.
The AP later issued a statement claiming the story was a test that was mistakenly published.
“The Associated Press has withdrawn its story slugged UCLA-Oregon. The story was prepared as a test story during a training session and was moved inadvertently to the wire. It was not meant for publication.”
Sounds like a cover-up.
The only logical explanation to me is that an AP writer from the future has come back in time to warn us that the Mayans were right.
Because what would it be if not apocalyptic if UCLA ended the season with three straight wins over USC, Stanford and Oregon in a Pac-12 Championship rematch?
UCLA would likely need more than 1.21 gigawatts to pull off that kind of stretch run.
Now, if only we could figure out who this Bob Jones is.
