The Undergraduate Students Association Council is the official student government of UCLA’s undergraduate students. Council meetings are Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in Kerckhoff 417 and are open to all students.
Agenda
- General Representatives Yasar Mohebi and Carly Yoshida and Financial Supports Commissioner Sahil Seth were absent. Nicole Vestal, a second-year biochemistry student, served as a proxy for Mohebi.
- Contingency allocations were approved unanimously.
Officer reports
- President David Bocarsly said he went to the University of California Student Association’s UC Student Congress with Lana Habib El-Farra, external vice president, and Kim Davis, Academic Affairs commissioner.
- Lana Habib El-Farra, external vice president, said the University of California Student Association decided to continue the Fund the UC campaign, which includes advocating for the Middle Class Scholarship.
- Kim Davis, Academic Affairs commissioner, said she and Bocarsly attended a focus group meeting about the “Community and Conflict in the Modern World” general education requirement proposal, which the College of Letters and Sciences faculty voted down at the end of spring quarter.
Special presentations
- Representatives from Daily Bruin Marketing presented their USAC mobile application. The representatives said the application will contain information about undergraduate student government, its members and offices and ways for students to get involved with USAC.
Appointments
- Fourth-year neuroscience student Nishad Sathe was appointed to the Chancellor’s Enrollment Advisory Committee by a vote of 8-0-1.
