Both UCLA men's tennis players in NCAA Individual Championships lose in first round

The NCAA Individuals Championships for men’s tennis began and ended for the Bruins on Wednesday afternoon.

Redshirt senior Nick Meister and sophomore Adrien Puget both lost in the first round to officially close the book on the season for UCLA.

Meister, the team captain, finishes his UCLA career on a down note by not being able to complete his goal of winning an NCAA Championship.

Puget will still have a shot to bounce back with the rest of the team next year when he returns as a junior.

Meister is the only player from the regular lineup who will not be returning next year.

UCLA finished the season as the No. 4 team in the nation with a 26-4 record. With so many returning players, it could be a strong contender to reach the NCAA championship game next year.
