This weekend, UCLA will host its annual JazzReggae Festival. The Daily Bruin talked to students about who they would like to see perform. Here’s what they had to say:

Ayanna Moody
Third-year, political science
“I would say they should maybe get more women to perform, maybe someone like Marsha Ambrosius or Lauryn Hill.”

Cameron Cressman
Third-year, world arts and cultures
“Tarrus Riley because he’s one of the only person’s music (on the lineup) that I know of. Also, Collie Buddz. I just like music that I’m used to hearing, like, in high school.”

Jessica Arthur
Third-year, English
“They should have tried Sean Paul again. We know he had an incident last year and he had to postpone his tour, but I’m sure he’s possibly available.”

Levi Dygert
Fourth-year, biochemistry
“In terms of the actual performers, I can’t wait to see the Roots because I’m a huge fan.”

Wilson Melbostad
Fourth-year, political science
“It would probably be Bobby Womack because I think he’s one of the most tenured soul musicians around. It’s really cool that JazzReggae was able to reach out the conventional scope of artists.”
