In the spirit of Bike Week, we asked students on campus if they think UCLA is a bike-friendly campus. Here’s what they had to say:

Anthony Bushong
Second-year, political science
“To get to campus, it’s bike-friendly. But getting around on campus from building to building, it’s not that friendly. There’s so many stairs and not many paths open to people biking.”

Phillip Dunn
First-year, biochemistry
“I don’t think the campus is that bike-friendly. I think there should be a way for bikes to go down Bruin Walk that’s safe for pedestrians.”

Ramanveer Virk
Second-year, anthropology
“I do not think so because of the layout of the campus and because there are so many people. Creating bike routes around the outside of the campus would help make us more bike-friendly.”

Therese Ungriano
First-year, biology
“There are lots of hills so biking is kind of difficult, but there isn’t much you can do. You can’t flatten the hills.”
