Ten out of 13 undergraduate student government positions will be uncontested in this year’s election.
The External Vice President, Cultural Affairs Commission and Financial Supports Commission will be contested in the elections held from May 7-10. There are a total of 16 candidates running for elected office.
The candidates were announced at an orientation meeting held today by the Undergraduate Students Association Council Election Board. Four of the candidates for office next year currently hold a USAC position.
The Students First! slate, which currently holds three offices in USAC, confirmed last week that it would not run a slate this year. Slates are groups of students that pool their resources together and run under similar platforms.
No new slate emerged for this year’s election.
