A UCLA student was robbed Monday night on the 700 block of Levering Avenue, according to university police.
The student was walking on Levering Avenue at around 8 p.m. when a man approached him and used bodily force to remove the student’s cell phone from his hand, according to a police statement released Monday.
The student was not injured, according to the statement.
The man is described in the report as black, 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches, 160 pounds, with short, dark-colored hair. He was wearing a red Nike hooded sweatshirt and grey sweatpants, the report said.
University police recommend students always be aware of their surroundings, and use transportation services or walk in groups after dusk.
Police are currently investigating the robbery. Anyone with information about the incident should call UCPD at 310-825-1491.
