STANFORD “”mdash; Senior guard Lazeric Jones, singlehandedly accounting for almost half of the UCLA men’s basketball team’s point total, was unquestionably getting the ball with UCLA down a point. But his last-second attempt was blocked and time ran out as UCLA fell, 60-59, to Stanford at Maples Pavilion.
Jones led the Bruins with 26 points but couldn’t get his jump shot up over the Cardinal’s Josh Huestis, and time ran out on UCLA.
Down one at the half, UCLA tied Stanford several times in the second half, but couldn’t take the lead and dropped its Pac-12 opener.
