UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel held his weekly press conference Monday afternoon in the J.D. Morgan Center Half of Fame Press Room.
The conference went on for more than 30 minutes as Neuheisel fielded questions about his team’s 27-17 win over San Jose State on Sept. 10 and its upcoming game with Texas Saturday at the Rose Bowl.
Neuheisel announced he would no longer be speaking with the crowd after games as he had in each of his first three seasons as coach. He said it had become a distraction and he had talked it over with his “bosses.”
He also turned his attention to the Texas Longhorns as the Bruins will try for their second win in as years against Mack Brown’s Longhorns. He didn’t let on as to who would be starting at quarterback in that game, saying that both quarterbacks would be ready. Redshirt junior Kevin Prince did not play against San Jose State because he was nursing a sore shoulder in which he sprained his right AC joint in the season opener against Houston.
