UCLA Live: David Sedaris Reading
Today, 8 p.m.
Royce Hall, $15
Tonight, best-selling author and humorist David Sedaris will come to Royce Hall to share an evening of storytelling and wit with the UCLA community. Known for his humor and social criticism, Sedaris is making his annual appearance at UCLA as a part of UCLA Live’s annual programming.
The event will begin at 8 p.m. in the Royce Hall Auditorium and marks the return of the “Me Talk Pretty One Day” author to campus. Student tickets are $15 with BruinCard and regular ticket prices range from $33 to $63.
Sedaris’ essays regularly appear in The New Yorker and many of his published works, including “Naked” and “When You are Engulfed in Flames,” have made the New York Times Best Sellers Fiction List.
This writer has also delved into the realm of radio and has been nominated for three Grammy Awards for Best Spoken Word and Best Comedy Album.
Last year Sedaris’ appearance included a reading of an excerpt from his then work-in-progress “Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary.” The book was published half a year later in September 2010.
