A few nights ago, I was flipping through channels on the television when I came across Rugrats.
My jaw dropped ““ yes, I was now acutely aware of details I never noticed as a child. For
example, I was impressed at the accuracy with which the animators portrayed baby behavior, but seeing the retro animation style immediately catapulted me back to my elementary school days. Sweet
bliss! Bouts of nostalgia like this are rare, but this is soon to change.
Nickelodeon is finally reaching out to old fans. The TV channel announced that this fall, it will start airing a nighttime programming block on TeenNick called “The ’90s Are All That!”
Entertainment Weekly also learned that the segment will feature a rotating lineup of various
classics from the ’90s vault between the hours of midnight and 2 a.m. (ET), including Rugrats,
Rocket Power, Clarissa Explains it All, The Amanda Show and All That.
TeenNick hopes to eventually bring back more ’90s programming and movies. Starting this
September, the program can be found on Channel 137 for those with Time Warner Cable.
