The UCLA men’s basketball team will play its quarterfinal matchup at full strength.
That is to say, it will have of its players. The strength part is a different story.
Junior guard Malcolm Lee, who sustained a small cartiledge tear in his left knee against Washington State, was “very limited” in practice today according to a team spokesperson.
Lee apparently practiced at full speed but didn’t practice in the entire practice. He will play Thursday against either Oregon or Arizona State. Oregon has a 45-34 lead early in the second half.
Although UCLA coach Ben Howland said there is no risk of further injury, he plans to take Lee’s minutes per game down to around 30. Lee is currently averaging 35.5 minutes per game.
“I don’t expect him to be hampered,” Howland said. “I think he’ll be fine.”
Junior guard Jerime Anderson (viral illness) and freshman guard Tyler Lamb (strep throat) practice today and will be available Thursday.
