Seating donation requirement reduced for the new Pauley Pavilion

UCLA fans, rejoice.

The UCLA athletic department announced today that there will be a reduction of the required donation to the Wooden Athletic Fund in order to receive priority seating in the renovated Pauley Pavilion.

“We are happy to announce that due to the enormous generosity of hundreds of donors during our Campaign of Champions, all per seat Wooden Athletic Fund donation requirements throughout renovated Pauley Pavilion will be reduced by 20 percent from the previously-announced levels,” UCLA athletic director Dan Guerrero said in a news release.

Guerrero also said the Campaign of Champions has received $65 million in cash and pledges, as well as $22 million in proposals being considered. The goal that the campaign set out to reach is $100 million.

According to the campaign’s current website, donors who give more than $30,000 are afforded many more benefits than donors who give between $1,000 to $30,000. Such benefits include the “ability to choose up to four sideline reserved season tickets” and the “ability to transfer seats on a one-time basis to immediate family members within a 25-year period.”

UCLA sports information director Marc Dellins said the project is on schedule to be completed before the start of the 2012 basketball season.

A plan for the home schedule in 2011 is still being finalized and should be announced within the next month, according to Dellins.
