The suspensions continue for the UCLA football team.
Redshirt freshman wide receiver Ricky Marvray and redshirt senior offensive tackle Sean Sheller have been suspended for Saturday’s game against Arizona for a violation of team rules, coach Rick Neuheisel announced Monday.
News of these suspensions comes nearly two weeks after Neuheisel suspended sophomore F-back Morrell Presley and redshirt junior wide receiver Josh Smith for one game, the Bruins’ 60-13 loss to Oregon.
Multiple reports surfaced on Oct. 12 that anywhere from three to six players failed random drug tests and would be suspended for the Oregon game. It was also reported that some players had opportunities to appeal the discipline.
Marvray is UCLA’s leading receiver this season with 14 catches for 141 yards and two touchdowns. Marvray quickly climbed up the wide receiver depth chart during summer training camp after redshirting and not playing all of last season.
Sheller has started at tackle in each of the Bruins’ seven games this season.
Sheller spent the bulk of the 2009 season playing special teams and practicing on the defensive line. He missed the entirety of the 2006 and 2008 seasons because of knee injuries and did not appear in a game during the 2007 season.
