The Undergraduate Students Association Council is the official student government of UCLA’s undergraduate students. Council meetings are Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in Kerckhoff 417 and are open to all students.

Agenda
“¢bull; A representative from Peer Health Exchange presented the mission of the organization, detailing the organization’s goal to educate students about improving their health-related practices.
“¢bull; Finance Committee Vice Chair Kia Saedi’s contingency allocations were passed with a vote of 10-0-0.

Special Presentations
“¢bull; Daily Bruin editor in chief Farzad Mashhood addressed the council regarding the publication’s role in reporting council activities and explained the communication process necessary for council members to express their views through the publication.

Officer Reports
“¢bull; President Jasmine Hill, who directs The Green Initiative Fund, is opening up applications, which will be due at the end of the month. A proposal is pending to open up mini-funds under $500 to sponsor smaller sustainability projects.
“¢bull; Internal Vice President Stephanie Lucas is working with the Community Service Organization to relaunch the Strathmore Safe Ride bus program, which provides rides to students on late Thursday nights. Lucas expects the program to launch before midterms season.
“¢bull; Academic Affairs Commissioner Suza Khy will be meeting with representatives from the Anderson School of Management to discuss the school’s financial self-sufficiency and its implications for students and professors.
“¢bull; Khy’s office will also meet with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to help promote and institute a holistic admissions approach at all UC schools.
“¢bull; The council discussed the planning process for an Oct. 14 event that will commemorate the late John Wooden through performances, games and more. The council voted 11-0-0 to allocate $10,000 of USAC surplus funds to sponsor the event.

“¢bull; The office of External Vice President Chris Santos will be holding a Rock The Vote Concert later this month, which will bring candidates, representatives and musicians together to emphasize the importance of voting.
