USAC Recap

The Undergraduate Students Association Council is the official student government of UCLA’s undergraduate students. Council meetings are Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in Kerckhoff 417 and are open to all students who wish to attend.

Agenda

“¢bull; Financial Supports Chair Brian Tan’s contingency allocations were approved with a vote of 12-0-0.

Special Presentations

“¢bull; Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Janina Montero presented information about the university’s budget cuts and shortfalls in the current and upcoming years. She also discussed additional costs the university will absorb and consolidations that have been made to conserve funds.

Officer Reports

“¢bull; President Cinthia Flores will attend the UC Commission on the Future meeting on Dec. 7. Her office is planning on having Assembly Speaker Karen Bass speak on campus during winter quarter.

“¢bull; Representatives from the external vice president’s office updated the council members on the Bruin Lobby Corps projects. Christopher Santos, campus organizing director for the EVP office, said the office is planning a month of action for education in March.

“¢bull; Debra Geller, USAC alternate administration representative, said students in the dorms will be asked to participate in the upcoming U.S. census.

“¢bull; General Representative Addison Huddy said he urges students not to participate in Undie Run.
