USAC Recap: Oct. 27, 2009

CORRECTIONS:

  • “¢bull; Financial Supports Chair Brian L. Tan’s contingency allocations were unanimously approved with a vote of 9-0-0.
  • “¢bull; Jasmine Graves was not approved to the Student Conduct Committee.
  • “¢bull; Jason Smith was approved to the Chancellor’s Enrollment Advisory Committee with a vote of 6-2-1.

The Undergraduate Students Association Council is the official student government that represents all undergraduate students. Council meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Kerckhoff 417.

Agenda

“¢bull; Vanessa Angulo, Arielle Kallish and Sarah Diringer were unanimously approved to sit on the Student Health Advisory Committee, ASUCLA Communications Board, and The Green Initiative Fund, respectively.

Officer Reports

“¢bull; Internal Vice President Shahida Bawa said the first BruINTENT meeting is today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Franz 2250. She will also meet with representatives from the Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center to work on increasing the accessibility of flu vaccines for at-risk students.
“¢bull; President Cinthia Flores is working with university police to coordinate events to increase its visibility on campus and assure a sense of campus safety.
“¢bull; Ronald Arruejo, representing External Vice President Susan Li, said the office is working with the campus community to coordinate action prior to the November UC Regents meeting at UCLA. The office hopes to attract at least 2000 students to the campus from across the state.

“¢bull; The deadline for submitting applications for funding from the Green Initiative fund are due ninth week. Applications can be found on the USAC Web site.
“¢bull; Proposals for Undergraduate Student Initiated Education classes are due Nov. 9 and can be found at usie.ucla.edu.
