The UCLA women’s soccer team scored another road victory Sunday night, winning 3-1 over UC Santa Barbara.
Two goals from sophomore Sydney Leroux and one from redshirt junior Jenna Belcher secured the victory for the Bruins, although coach Jillian Ellis said that the team let up a bit in the first half.
“Today I thought we played some of the best soccer we played in the second half,” Ellis said. “I thought today in the first half we were poor. Couldn’t take care of the ball, not a whole lot of movement. We scored early and then seemed disinterested. Santa Barbara came back at us. We got after them a little bit at halftime, and their response was terrific.”
UCLA will next face Pepperdine on the road on Friday before returning home to open Pac-10 play.
