Michael Schill, dean of the UCLA School of Law, announced his resignation today and will formally step down from his position at the end of 2009.
Schill is leaving UCLA to become dean of the University of Chicago Law School, Chancellor Gene Block said in a statement. Block congratulated Schill on more than five years of service at UCLA.
“Mike has enhanced UCLA’s excellence by recruiting faculty from some of the nation’s leading law schools, as well as establishing 13 endowed chairs,” Block said in the statement. “We want to thank Mike for his exemplary service and extraordinary contributions and wish him every success in his new endeavor.”
