Inter Milan practice report

Inter Milan’s afternoon practice today was closed to the public, including media.

Throughout the week, Inter Milan has been having practices open to fans and media at 10 a.m. and closed practices at 5 p.m. every day. Players were escorted by security from gate 15 of Pauley Pavilion to the southwest entrance of the North Athletic Field.

Their route between the west side of the Wooden Center and the east end of the Intramural Field has been closed to fans.

They will not be having a practice on Thursday morning in preparation for their afternoon scrimmage at 4:30 p.m. on North Athletic Field.

Inter Milan will be facing a team of American soccer players, including five members of the UCLA men’s team. The match will be open to fans by invite only, according to sources with UCLA Recreation that are closely involved with the operations of Inter Milan’s practice.

There has been no official word if players are available for postgame interviews Thursday night.

As of this afternoon, Friday and Saturday’s 10 a.m. practices have been announced as open to fans and press, and players will be available for interviews.

However, Inter coach José Mourinho has control over admission to practices, and circumstances may change at any moment.

The team will then travel to Stanford Stadium in Palo Alto for an exhibition match against Club America at 4 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN2.

They will then return to Southern California and face English Premier League giant Chelsea in a much anticipated club friendly. Tickets are still available at worldfootballchallenge.com, and the proceeds will benefit the Los Angeles Futbol Club, also known as LAFC Chelsea, an organization that provides affordable club soccer play for economically disadvantaged teens.

The match begins at 8 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN2.
