The recently founded campus group Sports and Entertainment Business Network is hosting the first annual SEBN Spring Summit on April 26.
The event, which will be co-programmed by the Office of Residential Life, begins at 11 a.m. in Covel Commons and is free to UCLA students.
SEBN co-president Allen Secretov said the summit will consist of two keynote speakers and a series of panels geared to help students learn how to break into the world of sports and entertainment.
Panels will focus on sports marketing sports management, music, film and television and new media. The Spring Summit will bring together heads of various sports and entertainment agencies.
Los Angeles Times sports columnist Bill Plaschke and UCLA Athletic Director Daniel Guerrero are also scheduled to appear.
Secretov explains that he hopes to expand the summit in future years to bring exposure to both SEBN and, more importantly, UCLA, as places where high-quality events pertaining to the entertainment and sports industries are at home.
The discussions will provide insight into the current status and future opportunities that exist in their respective industries. Panel members will also share their knowledge on how to best break into these industries in a networking reception at the event’s conclusion.
