[Online exclusive]: Freshman back charged with assault

Freshman defensive back E.J. Woods has been charged with assaulting two female students, the Los Angeles Times reported this afternoon. He was charged with two counts of sexual battery and four counts of battery.

Woods, 19, could face up to one year in jail for each sexual battery charge and six months for each battery charge.

Three individual incidents at off-campus apartments from October to January comprise the six charges attributed to Woods. According to police reports, Woods engaged in repeated inappropriate sexual contact with a student.

The reports said that a friend of the student approached Woods at a party and asked that he refrain from touching her. Woods shoved the friend "around the chin/throat area."

Woods was not arrested. He is scheduled to be arraigned on April 6.

UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel could not be reached for comment.
