UCLA-Washington State, Third Quarter

Washington State can at least breath a sigh of relief knowing that it’s streak of 278 games without being shutout won’t end tonight. Kicker Nico Grasu just hit a 47 yard field goal. Brian Price nearly blocked the kick after he beat a Washington State blocker. Score is now 14-3, UCLA leads.

Nate Chandler has caught a pass for the first time in his collegiate career.

The UCLA band is playing that old "NBA on NBC" theme song. Doesn’t that make you want to play NBA Jam?

Rough play on third down for Washington State. Alterraun Verner picked off a Lobbestael pass and then linebacker Akeem Ayers smashed the intended receiver, Jared Karstetter.

On a third direct snap attempt, Kahlil Bell bumped into wide receiver Terrence Austin and fell for no gain.

Another touchdown pass to tight end Ryan Moya and the Bruins have a commanding, 21-0 lead. Moya has five catches today and two scores. He put up similar numbers in the Bruins last win against Tennessee.

Most facets of the UCLA game have run without issue tonight. But the kick-off coverage team has struggled. Kicker Jimmy Rotstien hasn’t kicked any touchbacks, and returner Chantz Staden just ran a kick 46 yards back to midfield.

Kahlil Bell just dropped what may have been an easy touchdown pass. But the Bruins’ are still in good shape, up 21-3 and threatening to increase that lead.

Kevin Craft is 20-31, with 191 yards and- most importantly- no big mistakes or turnovers.

That’s it for tonight. Check back later for a wrap of the game on dailybruin.com, or see the print edition of the paper on Monday.
