UCLA-Arizona, Second Quarter

On first offensive play of second quarter, UCLA comes out in a shotgun, with four wide receivers, a tight end and no backs.

Delay of game penalty on 3-rd and six for UCLA. Second penalty on third down.

Another sack for ronnie palmer.

Arizona clearly dominating field position battle. Starts two consecutive drives near midfield.

Rahim Moore misses tackle on screen play, Mike Thomas runs 52 yards to the 5 yard line.

Alterraun Verner with solid coverage on tight end Rob Gronkowski on fade pass.

Players on both teams were waving for the crowd to yell louder on third and goal from the four. Arizona spread the UCLA defense out with four wide-outs and then handed to runningback Nic Grigsby who ran in for an easy score. Arizona 17, UCLA 7.

Darius Savage goes down after a big block on kick return coverage. But appears ok and does not receive any attention from trainers.

Another third and short-ish for UCLA. Craft tries for a deep ball to Taylor Embree, but it looks like there was some confusion on the route because Embree had stopped running and the ball sailed far over his head.

Arizona starts a third straight possesion near midfield.

Norris nearly picks Tuitama’s pass but then collides with Rahim MOore and drops the ball.

Verner loses track of Mike thomas and Tuitama hits him for a 14 yard gain and a crucial first down.

UCLA DE Korey Bosworth and Arizona Eben Britton do not seem to like eachother every much.

On third and four Arizona tries the same delay handoff it used to score on its last possesion, but this time it only gains three yards.

On fourth and one in the red zone Arizona goes for it, and is stuffed. A very poor decision by coach Mike Stoops. I’d call it inexplicable.

Possible momentum shift?

Kevin Craft has had three passes tipped so far.

First real completion of the day from Craft to Austin on third and long. 15 yard gain.

Michah Kia pushed back into Kevin Craft, Brooks Reed gets the sack.

Someting you haven’t seen- a long UCLA run. Chae Moline goes 40 yards, through a wide open hole. Give credit to guard Darius Savage, who made a great block.

Things are starting to go UCLA’s way; Moya juggles and somehow holds onto a pass on third and six. IT wasn’t enough for the first down, though, and it brought on kicker Kai Forbath who made a 34 yard field goal. Arizona 17, UCLA 10 at the half.

In this half UCLA had 73 yards rushing on 16 carries (4.5 ypc), almost double the total it had entering this game.
