The UCLA School of Law will be hosting the 32nd annual “When Disaster Strikes: The Ultimate Survival Guide” entertainment symposium today and Saturday, which will explore how to avoid behind-the-scenes problems in the entertainment industry.
The event will include a variety of discussions to address numerous problematic issues in the entertainment industry such as financing, copyright issues, the digital domain, and when the personal life of a client clashes with the entertainment business.
“(It was) organized for the purpose of presenting a yearly program that would raise the level of knowledge of those involved in the entertainment industry,” said Leigh Iwanaga, special events manager of the School of Law.
Various speakers from across the entertainment and legal spectrum will join the discussion panels to examine these issues and ways to avoid unintended problems, such as the public’s perception of outrageous behavior from a client.
Tickets are $350 or $325 with orders of three or more. They include the Entertainment Symposium Syllabus, lunch on Saturday, and coffee breaks on both days.
