The UC Board of Regents is scheduled to meet at UCSF on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to discuss agenda items ranging from approving funds for a new UCLA Police Department building to postponing the adoption of a policy that would restrict UC funding from the tobacco industry.
Grounds and Buildings
“¢bull; On Tuesday, the regents plan to discuss budgets for various buildings around the UC campuses, including the UC Davis School of Management building and the replacement of the UCLA police station. The committee is also expected to approve a budget for UC telemedicine group facilities, which aim to improve health care in rural parts of California.
Compensation
“¢bull; On Tuesday, the regents’ compensation committee plans to meet in closed session to discuss individual salary actions and actions associated with recent audit and management reviews. The committee is also set to review the final 2006 report on outside professional activities of senior UC executives.
“¢bull; On Wednesday, the board plans to discuss and approve these compensation actions in an open session.
Finance
“¢bull; On Thursday, the finance committee will discuss the May revision of the 2007-2008 state budget and UC’s long-term debt strategy.
“¢bull; Also on Thursday, the board will consider postponing adoption of a policy that would restrict the UC from receiving funding from the tobacco industry.
Laboratories
“¢bull; On Thursday, the regents’ laboratory oversight committee will receive information about contract competition for UC-controlled laboratories, as well as about other laboratory matters.
