Colin Iberti has the plans and experience to build on the Campus Events Commission’s current strengths and expand its programs.
The best part of Iberti’s platform is his plan to expand advertising to better reach all students. He looks to save money by eliminating all forms of paper advertising, and he hopes to assess student interest in shows and speakers by soliciting feedback at events or using the Internet to collect such information.
One aspect of his plan we question is a series of ticketed concerts, which he says can bring even bigger-name artists to UCLA. The commission has a strong history of providing free events for students, which Iberti should continue.
