[Online exclusive]: Women’s water polo wallops Arizona State and San Diego State

The No. 3 UCLA women’s water polo team had a successful
sweep this weekend at home, defeating No. 8 Arizona State 9-3 on
Saturday and No. 7 San Diego State on Sunday 12-3.

With the dual victories, the Bruins now boast a 16-2, 7-0 MPSF
record, and have continued their undefeated status in conference
play.

On Saturday against the Sun Devils, the Bruins suffered from a
slow start, failing to score in the first quarter of play,
something they have not done since the later part of the 2004
season.

However, the Bruins bounced back with nine goals from six
different players, allowing only three goals on the defensive
end.

Against the Aztecs on Sunday, UCLA recovered from
Saturday’s slow start, scoring eight of their 12 goals before
SDSU notched a single one.

This time, 10 players scored the 12 goals, bringing the weekend
tally to 10 Bruins scoring over the course of the weekend. Redshirt
senior utility Thalia Munro led UCLA with four goals.

In front of the net, junior Emily Feher notched 13 saves and
freshman Brittany Fullen tallied one.

UCLA travels down the 405 next Sunday to face No. 4 Loyola
Marymount. The Bruins return home the following weekend as they
host Maryland and Occidental March 25 and 26.
