UCLA football added another freshman to its 2004 backfield
Monday, as multiple sources confirmed that a third high school
defensive back had verbally committed to the Bruins.
Daniel Drayton, a running back and safety out of Los Altos High
School in Hacienda Heights gave head coach Karl Dorrell his word on
the heels of verbal commitments from defensive backs Rodney Van and
Bryan Payton on Saturday.
Drayton checks in at 5 feet, 9 inches and 190 pounds and
garnered second team All-State honors as a junior. During that
season, Drayton had 90 tackles and six forced fumbles defensively,
and ran for 1,055 yards and 16 touchdowns as a running back.
Teammate and defensive end Brigham Harwell is also a top UCLA
recruit.
