Schneider, Lopez join football staff
UCLA’s coaching staff continues to acquire a Colorado taste,
as Dorrell hired Brian Schneider ““ formerly the Colorado
State tight end and special teams coach ““ to come to Westwood
and coach UCLA’s outside linebackers and nickel backs. Rumors of
Schneider’s potential hiring surfaced several weeks ago, but no
official announcement was made until yesterday. Additionally, the
Bruins announced the addition of Robert Lopez as the new Director
of Football Operations. Lopez replaces the hugely popular Randy
Taylor, but Lopez and Dorrell worked together when both were at
Northern Arizona University from 1990-1991. Lopez spent the past
two years as the director of admission at the University of
Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
