Niusulu pleads guilty to battery; Reese, Havner, Olsen, Moore expect to play in Las Vegas

C.J. Niusulu pled guilty to a reduced misdemeanor battery charge
on December 17. Under former coach Bob Toledo’s policy, a felony
would have drawn an immediate dismissal from the team, and a
misdemeanor would have garnered a one-game suspension. It is not
known what punishment, if any, Dorrell will hand out. Niusulu, who
will be out for the remainder of the year with an injury, was
originally charged with felony battery following a fight at a
Barstow drive-in theater.

CAST ON: Linebackers Marcus Reese and Spencer Havner have been
practicing with casts on their left hands, and both expect to play
with the cast on during the Las Vegas Bowl. Havner broke his left
hand during the Pac-10 finale against Washington State. It is not
known as to the source of Reese’s injury.

SPLIT DUTY: Regardless of their performances, Drew Olson and
Matt Moore will each play exactly two quarters ap! iece. Barring an
injury, Olson will play the first and third quarters, while Moore
will take snaps during the second and fourth quarters.
