Chancellor approves free rides next year
After a period of deliberation Chancellor Albert Carnesale
approved the continuation of the BruinGo! bus program for the
2002-03 school year.
The program allows students, faculty and staff to ride the Santa
Monica Big Blue Bus for free with a swipe of their Bruin Cards.
The program’s over $1 million price tag will be funded
from parking fees charged to permit holders and others parking on
campus, according to a statement from Mark J. Stocki, director of
UCLA transportation services.
This year’s BruinGo! program will continue through June 14
and next year’s will pick up at the start of fall quarter on
Sept. 16.
