Petty theft Someone stole $20 from a donation jar at the UCLA
Aquarium Sunday. Credit cards, a cell phone and money were stolen
from a purse Saturday, totalling losses of $105. A wallet with $75
in it was stolen from the Law Library Saturday. A parking permit,
bank card and a California driver’s license were reported
stolen this week. Grand theft A total of $3,908 in various items
were stolen this past period. Someone reported a California 2000
Sportage Kia stolen from its garage on Sepulveda Avenue Sunday.
Someone stole a $475 backpack from the Wooden Center Sunday. On
Saturday, someone stole an $1,800 Compaq computer from the UCLA
School of Law. A guitar, 85 CDs, camera and a cell phone were
stolen from an apartment on the 400 block of Kelton Avenue between
3:30 and 10:30 a.m Saturday, totalling losses of $1,630. No forced
entry was reported.
Miscellaneous Someone shot a victim near the 405 freeway off the
800 block of Tiverton Avenue Sunday. Someone slashed the tires of a
1999 silver Nissan Altima parked on the corner of Gayley and
Strathmore Avenues Sunday An unknown person placed a black brief
case in the bed of a pick-up truck parked in the north lot of the
university police station Friday. Police said it was only an old,
empty briefcase. Suspicious activity was reported Friday when two
men were reported shooting a beebee gun on the 400 block of
Landfair Avenue. It was also reported that same day that someone
damaged a car window with an unknown device on the 400 block of
Gayley Avenue. Two adults were arrested for misdemeanors on Friday.
One was arrested at the student lounge on the second floor of
Ackerman Union. The other was arrested at Sproul turnaround for
driving without a license. Both were taken to the university police
