Crime Watch

Petty Theft Seven cell phones, three backpacks,
five wallets and two permits were stolen during this period,
totalling a loss of $3,619. Someone removed a key from the keyhole
on the 3100 block of Keystone Avenue Sunday. Someone stole $200
from a purse in the Dickson Art Center lockbox between 11:30 a.m.
and noon Saturday. A $250 computer monitor was removed from Franz
Hall Friday. Someone stole a CD player through a broken side window
on Wednesday. On Nov. 13, someone removed books from Math Sciences,
totalling a loss of $193. That same day, someone broke into a
vehicle parked in a garage on the 500 block of Veteran Avenue. The
suspect removed miscellaneous property, worth a total of $265,
through the rear window.

Grand Theft Someone stole a stereo and
miscellaneous property from a car parked on the 500 block of Kelton
Avenue Sunday. The loss was valued at $1,600. Police received a
report that someone stole a $1,700 computer from Young Hall on
Sunday. Someone smashed the passenger side front window and stole a
stereo and DVD player in Lot 32 Thursday. The loss was $1,500. That
same day, stereo equipment worth $1,550 was removed from a vehicle
parked on the 600 block of Veteran Avenue. Police received a report
of a fraudulent transfer of funds between account Tuesday. The loss
was $710; the time and place of the transfer are unknown.

Miscellaneous Several women were involved in a
fight on the 900 block of Thayer Avenue at 2:30 a.m. Sunday. They
were armed with bats and knives, and one stated she was going to
get a gun, according to police. University police received a report
of forgery Saturday. The suspect made $165 in unauthorized credit
card purchases over the Internet. Police received reports of two
indecent exposures during this period. Both times, they happened in
Royce Hall basement bathrooms. Also, over this period of time, at
least 12 car windows were smashed. Most occurred in Lot 11, several
on the corner of Veteran Avenue and Sunset Boulevard, as well as
Veteran and Gayley Avenues. Police received three reports this
period of suspicious powder and three reports of suspicious
packages and envelopes during this period.
