Petty theft Seven cell phones, one wallet,
three backpacks, one purse and two parking permits were stolen
during this period, totalling a loss of $4,230. Someone removed two
hood ornaments and one nameplate from cars parked in Lot 2 around 5
p.m. Friday.

Grand theft Police received a report Saturday that
someone charged $571 to a VISA check card that was stolen from a
wallet in Rieber Hall. A laptop, cell phone, backpack and wallet,
worth a total of $2,149, were stolen from Young Research Library at
2:41 p.m. Saturday. Someone stole a stereo and other items, worth a
total of $2,675, from a vehicle parked on the 600 block of Veteran
Avenue between 12:45 and 1 p.m. Saturday. Police received a report
Friday that someone had opened two credit card accounts under
another person’s name without permission by using information
from a U.S. mail service and charged $7,678 to those accounts. A
backpack was stolen from Covel Commons around 3:30 p.m. Friday. The
loss was $438. Someone entered Espresso Roma on Westwood Boulevard
and stole $2,500 at approximately 9:30 a.m. Thursday. There was no
sign of forced entry. A white 1992 Toyota Civic VX was stolen from
Lot 32 around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. Someone removed a vehicle and a
radio belonging to the Office of Residential Life from the Covel
Commons quad between 7 and 7:20 p.m. Thursday. On Wednesday,
someone stole a car stereo, two speakers and a speaker box from a
car in the Sunset Village parking structure, totalling a loss of
$665. Also on Wednesday, a yellow and black Suzuki GSX-R was stolen
near Franz Hall. Police received a report Wednesday that someone
stole $437 from a bag at the UCLA Medical Center. An $800 cell
phone was stolen from the Center of Health Sciences on
Wednesday.

Miscellaneous Someone entered the Biomedical
Library and attempted to set a soap dispenser on fire Friday
afternoon. A man exposed himself in a men’s rest room in
Royce Hall Thursday afternoon. At 1:21 a.m. Thursday, 20 to 30
people got into a fight at the Shell gas station on Gayley and Le
Conte Avenues. Some were armed with baseball bats.
