CRIME WATCH 0 Vehicles stolen $24,523 Grand
theft $998 Petty theft

Grand theft On Sunday, a laptop was stolen from
the 600 block of Hilgard Avenue. The passenger side window of a
vehicle was smashed in Sunday. A CD player, radar detector and
speakers were stolen from Lot 11, amounting to a $780 loss. Someone
reported that a steamer worth $19,000 was removed from the entrance
of Covel Commons last Saturday. Someone stole an audio-visual cart
from an unlocked classroom in Public Policy last Wednesday,
amounting to a loss of $4,743.

Petty theft During this past week, three cell
phones, five wallets/bags, and four parking permits/parking access
cards were stolen, amounting to a total loss of $558. On Saturday,
someone punched the driver side lock of a vehicle, removing a radio
faceplate and CDs totalling a loss of $150. On Friday, someone
stole four books worth $70 from Bruin Walk between Ackerman Union
and the Men’s Gym. Last Thursday, someone stole a cell phone
and an ATM card from an emergency room locker at the UCLA Santa
Monica Hospital, totalling a $120 loss. A $100 book was taken from
the Math Sciences building last Tuesday.

Miscellaneous On Sunday, a male prowler was
reported attempting to break into an apartment on the 800 block of
Levering Avenue. Someone was struck by a loose plank at the
construction site of the Wooden Center on Sunday. The LAPD
broadcast a holdup at the Armand Hammer Museum on Sunday. Saturday
night, 20 men armed with bats fought on the 1000 block of Broxton
Avenue. A 20-year-old male struck another male in the face as event
protection for a party. Someone threw equipment into both pools at
Sunset Recreation Center Saturday night. At the MacDonald Medical
Research Lab, protesters were throwing furniture on the first floor
last Friday. Also, a shoving match was reported between a
demonstrator and an employee at the Gonda (Goldschmied)
Neuroscience and Genetics Research Center. A 23-year-old man was
reported asking for nitrous oxide in front of the Emergency Room on
Friday. Someone became irate, refusing to pay the bus fare at the
Hilgard bus turnaround Thursday.
