CRIME WATCH Â 5 Vehicles stolen $7080
Grand theft $3355 Petty theft
Petty theft Five parking permits, five wallets,
five cellular phones, two purses, two backpacks and two car stereos
were stolen during this period, amounting to a total loss of
$2,760. On Wednesday, someone stole eyeglasses and jewelry from a
room in De Neve Plaza, worth a total of $295. Later that day,
someone removed the passenger-side mirror from a tan 1995 Honda
Accord on the 500 block of Gayley Avenue, causing $100 in damage.
Someone stole a $140 bicycle from the Gonda/Goldschmied Building
Tuesday. That same day, $60 in U.S. and British currency were
stolen from a building in De Neve Plaza. Grand
theft Someone removed $1,780 in property from a vehicle in
the Sunset Village parking lot Sunday. On Friday, a red 1996 Acura
Integra was stolen from the 600 block of Landfair Avenue. Later
that day, someone stole a blue 2000 Honda Civic from the Sunset
Village parking lot. A silver 1987 Honda Prelude was stolen from
the 100 block of Veteran Avenue Friday. Surgical loupes worth
$1,400 were stolen Thursday from a locker in the Center for Health
Sciences. A blue 1992 Mercedes 300e was stolen from the B2 level of
Lot 1 on Wednesday. Various items valued at a total of $500 were
stolen from a gold 2000 Toyota Camry in the Center for Health
Sciences parking lot Tuesday. Later that day, someone stole a
$3,000 computer from the lobby area of The Anderson School at
UCLA.
Miscellaneous On Saturday, subjects were
reportedly throwing objects at a security car attempting to enter a
party on the 500 block of Gayley Avenue. Later that day, police
received a report that a man was removing change from Los Angeles
Times newspaper stands on Le Conte Avenue. A man tackled another
man on the south side of Haines Hall Saturday. Someone placed a
call to police about a bomb threat to the Medical Plaza around
12:19 p.m. Wednesday. Police confiscated several bongs and
fireworks from a room in Hedrick Hall Tuesday.
