Petty theft Someone stole $30 in compact discs
after smashing the driver’s side front window of a 1998 Honda
parked in Lot 6 between 1:40 and 9:40 p.m. Friday. Someone stole 35
daily parking permits, worth a total of $175, from the Parking
Services Office between Thursday and Friday. A $175 VCR was stolen
from Glorya Kaufman Hall between May 16 and 17, with no sign of
forced entry.

Grand theft A purse and its contents, worth a
total of $950, was stolen last week in Westwood Village. Last week,
a combined $885 in cash was stolen from the Santa Monica Hospital
Emergency Room, as well as a food cart at the Freud Playhouse
courtyard. Someone stole a red 2000 Volvo with no license plates
around noon on Friday. Someone broke the passenger side front
window of a 1988 Honda and stole $700 worth in shoes, compact discs
and a CD player on Friday. That same day, someone stole a laptop
computer after breaking into a vehicle in Lot 8. The amount of loss
is unknown.

Miscellaneous A man attempted to overflow the
toilets of a men’s rest room near the dean’s office at
the Center for Health Sciences around 10:30 a.m. Friday. Police
arrested an intoxicated man stumbling through the bushes and
attempting to operate a gray 1990 Chevy minivan near Drake Stadium
Thursday afternoon. A large group of people were cheering as two
individuals boxed each other on the top level of the Sunset Canyon
Recreation Center parking lot just after midnight Thursday. Police
received a second-hand report of several intoxicated individuals
making threats to a Delta Terrace resident assistant around
midnight Wednesday. Someone stole food and ransacked the
chancellor’s residence pool room between 2:30 p.m. on May 15
and 5:45 a.m. on May 16. There was no sign of forced entry. Someone
punched another person in the face at the John Wooden Center
basketball court at about 5 p.m. on May 16. Fifty to 75 people were
reportedly urinating on the lawn of a house on the 700 block of
Hilgard Avenue around 10:20 p.m. on May 15. Compiled from UCPD
