Petty theft Three parking permits, one cellular phone and $943
in wallets and backpacks were reported stolen last week. Someone
stole a $325 stereo from a gray 1987 Toyota Camry parked in Lot 4
Saturday. Police received a report Friday that $320 in parking
services signs were stolen from various locations. Police received
a report on May 2 that a calculator, headset and dictionary worth
an estimated total of $200 were stolen from the Santa Monica
Hospital admitting office.

Grand theft A blue 1986 Chevrolet Nova, a silver 1987 Toyota
Camry and a red 1997 Honda were stolen from various on-campus
locations last week. Someone broke the passenger side window of a
gray 1989 Jeep Cherokee parked in Lot 4 and stole $8,350 in various
items on Saturday. Someone pried open the door of a building on the
1500 block of Wilshire Boulevard and stole a cellular phone and
digital camera worth an estimated total of $980 on Thursday.

Miscellaneous A man threatened the security guard at the Village
Express Mart on Le Conte Avenue around 12:40 a.m. Sunday because
employees refused to sell him alcohol without an ID. A man was
arrested Sunday night for attempting to remove coins from vending
machines near Campbell Hall. A group of people were reportedly
shooting a BB gun on the 500 block of Glenrock Avenue around 1:40
p.m. Sunday. Some of the shots entered the property of a nearby
building. Police retrieved a counterfeit parking permit displayed
on a 1996 Nissan parked in the Sunset Village parking lot Sunday. A
man touched another person in a “sexual manner” on the
fifth floor of the Young Research Library around 2 p.m. Thursday,
according to police report. A gray 1991 Chevy Caprice displaying a
stolen parking permit in the Sunset Village parking lot was
impounded by police Wednesday. Someone punctured the driver side
front tire of a white 1990 Ford Mustang parked in Lot 8 around 1
p.m. on May 2. The Emergency Medical Technicians responded to 13
