Crimewatch

Cars

Car thieves were productive last week, with five cars stolen and
only one recovered. Cars disappeared from Veteran, Sawtelle and Lot
14.

In Lot 3, Lot 1 and Lot R, parking permits were stolen from four
cars, and hubcaps were also stolen from three cars – two of them in
Lot 11.

An unsuccessful suspect was seen trying to open car doors in Lot
32, but no thefts were attributed to him.

Penal Code Violations

Last Monday, an unknown number of suspects were seen peeking
under shower stall doors in a Dykstra Hall women’s bathroom.

The same day, written racial epithets were discovered on a
locker in the law school.

In violation of the Health and Safety Code, three to four
suspects were reported smoking marijuana in Lot 3 last Monday, and
residents of Rieber Hall reported the smell of marijuana smoke in
the dorms on Friday.

Battery

Yusef Alexander, 25, was taken into custody on Saturday on
suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

He was taken to the West Hollywood jail after he allegedly hit
and kicked the victim at the Wooden Center. His bail has been set
at $20,000.

Four women were also taken into custody Saturday on suspicion of
battery.

Keosha Marshall, Tracey Renee Williams, Carla Vanae Horne and
Larhonda Nicole Mitchell were taken into custody on suspicion of a
battery at 547 Gayley Ave., but were later released.

An assault allegedly took place between a man and a woman behind
In ‘n’ Out that same day.

The man was described as having blond hair and wearing a plaid
shirt. No information was available about the woman.

Two more incidents of battery and assault with a deadly weapon
were reportedly handled by LAPD in the areas where university
police share jurisdiction.

Disturbing the Peace

UCPD officers hit nearly every street in Westwood as they broke
up 23 parties last week.

There were also three reports of gunshots being fired, although
one of these incidents may have involved only a cherry bomb.
