Monday, August 5, 1996Between July 25 and Aug. 9, the driveway
drop-off area of the Rehabilitation Center will be closed due to
the installation of a water line, leaving only three of the
handicapped accessible parking spaces on the north end of the
metered lot available for use. More accessible parking spaces can
be found in the lot on the south side of Capital Programs.
Construction continues on the new Tom Bradley International
Student Center at the corner of Strathmore and Gayley. Delivery of
building materials may cause slight congestion. Traffic will be
controlled by flagmen.
The south lane that passes through Dickson Plaza has been
closed, however the north lane can accommodate two-way traffic.
Portola Plaza Road is closed between Campbell Hall and LuValle
Commons.
The sidewalks between Haines and Campbell Halls and the
northwest corner of Haines Hall to Portola Plaza will be repaved.
Haines Hall will not be handicap accessible for a 24-hour period
between Aug. 5 and Aug. 19. The exact dates have not yet been
determined.
New gate control installations for Parking Services’ Bruin Park
Plus have been completed. Entrances and exits will still be
accessible, and testing of the new gates will be completed in
September.
Construction adjacent to Sculpture Garden and Public Policy
continues.
Phase III of road resurfacing on Royce Drive and Circle Drive
North will begin on Aug. 5 and end Aug. 14.
Just one lane along Circle Drive East just west of Murphy Hall
is open due to trenching. Flagmen and cones will direct
traffic.
