Lot 8 site of morning car blaze

A 1982 Nissan 200 SX caught fire in the Lot 8 parking on
Thursday. No one was injured, but the damage was estimated at
$2,000.

Early Thursday morning, the east side of Lot 8 glowed a bright
yellow as a parked car caught fire. Although no one was injured,
damage to the scorched 1982 Nissan 200 SX was estimated at
$2,000.
The owner of the car noticed smoke coming from under the hood at
about 5:30 a.m. while pulling the automobile into a parking space,
reported University Police Capt. Terry Baker. Police were called to
the scene after the owner realized that the car was catching
fire.
Firefighters from Station 37 arrived after 30 minutes and
quickly contained the fire. Faulty electrical wiring is suspected
to have sparked the car ablaze.Comments to
